The members of the Inland Group of Companies (Integrated Deicing Services, Inland Technologies, and Quantem Aviation Services) are highly experienced in aircraft de-icing, environmental management, ground handling, and many other aviation support services. We operate at over 50 airports in four countries. As our company continues to change and grow we are seeking a qualified individual to contribute to our ongoing success in the role of Human Resources Business Partner.
Overview:
The Human Resources Business Partner will be given the opportunity to partner with internal stakeholders and coach managers and employees alike on HR policies, procedures, and guidelines. The HR Business Partner is responsible for aligning Inland’s goals by providing HR solutions to support these initiatives. As a trusted professional, they will execute both business and people strategies, retain talent, and manage sensitive and complex employee relations cases.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):
- Manages overall Human Resources programs and assures compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity and related employee-focused regulations
- Advises management with appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
- Conducts investigations and makes recommendations on remedies where appropriate
- Effectively responds to inquiries by providing guidance and coaching to supervisory and management staff regarding interpretation of HR policies, procedures, programs, compensation and benefits; assists in policy development when needed
- Implements and maintains HR policies and procedures including communications, postings, and the Employee Handbook; provides guidance and coaching to supervisory staff regarding HR policies and keep abreast of new labor laws and other related information
- Assists with the performance management process for assigned business areas, including coaching on performance-related issues and performance appraisal administration
- Supports managers with talent development/succession plans and employees with the creation of individual development plans as needed
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
- Partners with the Talent Acquisition and Employee Experience team members in the effective delivery of all HR programs
- Serves as liaison between corporate benefits representatives and immediate community to provide benefit plan interpretation, guidance and coaching
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels of management, customers, and employees
- Key skills and abilities include coaching, influencing, facilitation, analysis, and problem solving
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented with strong organizational skills and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work within deadlines, prioritize work assignments, and work independently
- Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Positive and proactive contributor who is capable of interacting with varying personalities and all levels of internal and external stakeholders
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent people skills; must be able to handle sensitive and confidential situations; position requires demonstrated discretion, tact, and diplomacy
Education, Certifications, Credentials, and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive work experience in HR Generalist or Manager role
- BA/BS in HR-related field or equivalent experience
- Must be able to pass all required background and clearance requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- SHRM-SCP/SHRM-CP, SPHR/PHR, or equivalent HR certification preferred
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Work Environment:
- Professional office environment using standard office equipment with travel to operations facilities as required
- Must be able to work extended hours on short notice during irregular operations; flexible to work variable shifts, weekends, and/or holidays as needed
Physical Demands:
- Position involves remaining seated for extended periods of time using a computer keyboard and mouse
- Position involves speaking and hearing efficiently
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
Travel:
- Ability to travel 25% or more of the time
- Ability to travel on short notice to meet immediate business needs may be required
